RED K ELDERS

IMG_3780.jpeg

After training in various forms of Chinese and Hawaiian bodywork and massage therapy, I undertook training in Process-Oriented Reichian Body Psychotherapy. For several years I worked with one-to-one with people, inviting expression and release of accumulated tensions and histories.

Subsequently, I created and led the outdoors woodland community group Mighty Oaks which ran for six years, serving over 100 families. I held a calm and grounded supportive space for groups of around 30 people three times per week, teaching about nature and traditional handcrafts whilst providing conversational counselling, and holding a circle in which I embodied story forms and song.

After time away from direct therapeutic work to birth and raise my two young daughters, I am returning to integrating this group and solo work, with aspects of my own personal development, movement and meditation practice, and incorporating new learnings that I continue to explore. I created and ran the experimental dancing-drumming-sharing-singing space Heart Song which ran monthly for over two years.

For five years I have been in depth work and training with Linda Hartley, exploring Authentic Movement and the development of impeccable witness presence. Additionally, I have 30 years of extensive training and experience in many various disciplines, including: Taoist energetic meditations and practices, Mythogenic Self Process of embodied personal mythology including NLP master trainer certification, intensive Yoga teacher training and Hindu philosophy through Sivananda ashram. I have experience in Kundalini yoga, Vipassana meditation, Zen meditation & Tibetan Buddhist meditation and philosophy and have also undertaken intensive naturopathic massage training including reflexology. I’ve many years of personal practise in Five Rhythms dance and Contact Improvisation. More recently I’ve taken part in intensives and courses to learn about Arnold and Amy Mindell’s Processwork, Joanna Macy’s The Work That Reconnects, and Daniel Foor's Ancestral Healing work.
